“I’m exceptionally driven and productive as a storyteller. I shun the ego and hierarchy that has been commonplace on film sets. Highly collaborative, I view myself as the steward of everyone’s best ideas. I am a director not a dictator. As a queer pākehā woman I sit at an intersection of underrepresented voices and privilege - a line I walk with care and intentionality. A common theme in my work that resonates with audiences is the idea that being human means being flawed—we make mistakes, sometimes hurting others, yet we still deserve love and respect.”
